Due to the current economic climate, many solicitors now have specialist departments to recover debt.

Often a letter from a solicitor will get the results you are looking for but if not there are several other methods to recover debt that should have the desired effect.

These include: County Court Judgments, Statutory Demands, Winding-Up Orders, and Bailiffs.

There is no set way for solicitors to charge for their debt recovery service. Some charge a set fee per hour whilst others charge a percentage of what they manage to recover. Some offer a ‘No Win, No fee’ service but if you choose this option check who is responsible for case costs.

It is important that you have as much evidence as possible to help your solicitor build a case, including copies of invoices, any letters you have sent requesting payment and any responses you may have had.
